Boabble - Old Jock looks good for 104 and he has obviously had his share of problems to land on the D Day Beaches to gain his M.M. - but even more heartbreaking - I should think is his long support of the Hibs - over the many years they have been up and down like the proverbial yo-yo enough to put years on anyone !
When we were in training at Barnard Castle - we had Bobby Combe of the Hibs in our hut but he was NOT on our draft for overseas somehow !
We had a great football team in those days with Jimmy Gordon of Middleborough at Right Half with Combe inside right and me on the wing. I was pleased to see Bobby made the Scottish team after the war !
Hi Tom I used to kip school every other Wed. to get lifted over the gate at Easter road to see him play,and the Hibees are not doing to badly these days.
Some phenomenal guy, our Jock. You didn't tend to win the Military medal without doing something special.
